Why Willow Glen

Willow Glen is about as close as it gets to the studio without being in the same zip code. Head north on Lincoln or Meridian, cross under 280, and you're at 1401 Parkmoor Avenue before your coffee cools off.

The neighborhood has its own pace. People walk to dinner on Lincoln Avenue, know the names of the families three doors down, and stay in the same house for twenty years. The clients I train from here tend to want the same thing from their training: something steady they can keep doing for a long time, not a program that burns out by March.

Training around a family schedule

A lot of Willow Glen clients are parents, and their week is built around school drop-off, pick-up, practices, and whatever gets added on short notice. The workout has to fit into the gaps without taking over the whole morning.

Because the drive is so short, a sixty-minute session costs you about an hour and fifteen minutes door to door. That's the difference between training that happens and training that keeps getting moved. Early mornings before the house wakes up and mid-morning slots right after drop-off are the most popular windows, and I keep both open for exactly this reason.

Staying active outside the studio

Willow Glen is a neighborhood where people actually move. Walking the dog down tree-lined streets, biking the Three Creeks Trail, weekend errands on foot, hiking trips that get planned months out. The training is built to support all of that, not compete with it.

That means strong hips and ankles so the long walks don't leave your knees sore, a back that tolerates gardening and carrying groceries up the steps of an older house, and enough conditioning that a hilly hike feels like a good day out instead of a recovery project. The movement screen at the start tells us where to focus first.

Built for the long run

Plenty of the people I work with from Willow Glen are in their forties and fifties and starting to notice the things that used to be automatic. Getting off the floor after playing with the kids. Sleeping wrong and feeling it for three days. An old injury that comes back every spring.

None of that is a reason to slow down. It's a reason to train with more intention. We build strength slowly, keep the joints moving well, and track progress so you can see it even when it's gradual. The goal is still feeling capable in twenty years, not just looking different in eight weeks.

Getting started

Fill out the short form and I'll reply the same day. We'll set up a free consultation at the studio, go through your history and goals, and run the movement screen. If it's a fit, sessions usually start the following week. If it isn't, I'll tell you and point you somewhere better suited.

What I do

Services

1:1, semi-private, and small group training

Private one-on-one, two-person semi-private, or small group. Every client still gets a program built around their own body, whatever the format.

Strength and conditioning

Sessions mix compound strength work with conditioning and targeted mobility. The private training gym has dumbbells, kettlebells, racks, a bench, bands, cardio equipment, and mobility tools, and it's never crowded the way a commercial gym is.

Weight loss that lasts

Strength training, more daily movement, and practical nutrition guidance, progressed at a pace you can actually keep. No crash diets or 30-day challenges. The goal is losing fat without losing the muscle you'll need in twenty years.

Functional fitness that carries over

Functional fitness means the work shows up outside the gym. Carrying luggage up a flight of stairs, getting off the floor without using your hands, a weekend hike you don't pay for on Monday. Patterns first, then load.

Mobility and movement screening

Every new client starts with a movement screen that scores six areas, and the program gets built around whatever it flags. Stiff ankles and hips change what your knees and back have to absorb.

Programming for the days between sessions

Training you do on your own the rest of the week, at home with whatever you have or at the studio where all the equipment is included. It's how the work compounds.

Online and hybrid personal training

Online sessions for the weeks you can't make the drive. Most clients run a hybrid: in person most of the time, online when travel or work gets in the way. We start in-studio so your form is established before we go remote.

Longevity-focused approach

Built for the next forty years of your body, not the next four weeks. Bone density, grip strength, balance, and practical nutrition guidance are part of the plan.
